What you will do

Sales Reporting

  • Own, compile and send out the Weekly Sales report
  • Introduce a user-friendly monthly sales report by SKU

Controls

  • SAP > New Customer setup, Price list updates, testing etc
  • Maintain customer contact register
  • Owner of customer list price changes in SAP

Month End & Reporting

  • Calculation and posting of month end promotions and tradespend accruals
  • Ensure monthly promotions and tradespend reconciliations are completed for all Obela Europe accruals
  • Introduce Customer Sales forecasting files
  • Review forecast GSV, promotions, tradespend and selling expenses with each account manager forecast
  • Review actual vs budget vs forecast selling expenses with account managers
  • Review of customer level promotions and tradespend balances with each account manager
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of customer promotions and tradespend
  • Monthly review of pricing change logs to ensure compliance against DOA and pricing policy
  • Complete accurate and timely monthly financial results by customer
  • Report on and provide commentary on customer performance metrics in the monthly commercial review
  • Monthly update on promotions and tradespend monies claimed
  • On time and accurate completion of 2021 Customer Annual Operating Plan (From GSV to Net Sales)
  • Drive common, rigorous evaluation processes into the business to enhance value creation
  • Improve finance capability throughout the commercial and marketing teams

Accounts Receivable (first 6 months)

  • Overall responsibility and accountability for the accounts receivable function
  • Manage and process customer tradespend discount claims
  • On a continuous basis work with Sales and commercial finance to maintain and clear all trade and promotional claims in SAP
  • On a continuous basis work with logistics and accounts payable to maintain and clear all stock claims in SAP
  • Deductions investigation and clearing from customers, collection of accounts receivable
  • Maintain customer contact register
  • Ensure achievement of set KPI’s including doubtful debt and outstanding debtor’s days’ targets.
  • Maintain a list of all outstanding claims at month end
  • Maintain tracker of all promotional claims received against promotional accruals


Criteria

  • Bachelor degree in business related discipline
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Fluent German and English, additional Dutch language skills will be an advantage
  • Experience within the FMCG market is a must
  • Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
  • You have good communication skills, confident and bring analytical strength with you

About the company

For the Finance department, based in the Netherlands (Mijdrecht), we are looking for a Business Controller/Commercial Finance Manager. In this role you will be responsible for optimizing financial performance and acting as an internal business partner across a range of commercial and marketing teams. You will be challenging and supporting performance, generating insights and options for review and will bring financial understanding to all issues. In the short term (first 6 months) this role will also be accountable for the accounts receivable function for the Netherlands and Germany. Reporting line will be into the Finance Director. Other key stakeholders will be Sales, Finance and Marketing.

The team of finance is going through a restructure. The team will be growing to a number of 6 people (3 at the moment). The company is developing quickly towards a more efficient and professional organisation. They have the ambition to grow further within Europe and increase their activities. This Business Controller position is also een growing one. The position of Business Control has to be developped which means we are looking for someone who likes to built new things which can create new insights for the management.
